Final Post (Final Exam)

Well as you can prolly see this is my last post for this year. Next year though, I hope I can take this class again. I had a lot of fun in this class making different loops, and learning new things that are fun. Over all this class has taught me a lot about music. Before I decided to take this class I didn't know a hole lot about music. I knew I liked to listen to it, but I didn't realize how much work goes into making a beat, or pattern for a song. After taking this class though I learned that in order to make a good song you have to have a beat for it, and not only that but that you can't just put something together you have to make sure that the pattern fits with the other patterns. Like if one pattern is on A4 And C5 you should try to make your other pattern work on A4 and C5. It will make it sound a lot better, but before this class I did not know that. This class is also a class that you can have fun in. We got to listen to some really cool things that Mr. Rebuse made, and we got to listen to some cool things that other people made. This class will teach you a lot about making music, and in my opinion will give you a chance to try something new, that is fun and entertaining. This is the ended of my final blog, till next year. Bye

Project 7 FM

In my 7th project I had to make a 4 synths using Sytrus(Default). The first synth I made is kinda like my base for the first part of the loop. The second synth I made is the main pattern in the second part to my loop, and has a really cool sound to it. The third synth I made adds a little piano/ violin sound to the first pattern. The fourth synth I made is my main tune for my first pattern, and when you play just one note of it it sound like a string being plucked, but the way it is put together it has a really awesome sound to it. I also made another synth, but this one isn't Sytrus its PoiZone, and i made it for the second pattern so it could have a base. I also added it to add some difference to the pattern. Go ahead and take a listen and leave me a comment saying what y'all think of it.

Project 6

In project 6 I had to make a loop using Sytrus and I had to make a volume envelope, a LFO envelope, a pitch envelope, a resonance envelope, and a key mapping envelope. The main pattern (pattern one) is Sytrus with a volume env, a pitch env, a resonance env, and a LFO env. The first pattern has a techno type sound to it and plays throughout the loop. The second pattern is FPC Ambient Groove 3, its kinda fast paste but still works with the loop and sound good. The third pattern is FPC Break beat still fast but it doesn't stay on this pattern for to long, it switches back to the second pattern then back to the third, then back to the second, then back to third, then back to second. The fourth pattern is my Base of the loop. Its the default Sytrus with frequency ratio 1.0000x, which makes the Sytrus sound more like a base than a piano or flute. In my opinion this is a great loop and sounds awesome, but why don't you take a listen and tell me what you think.

Project Five

In project five I had to make a loop using Sytrus. For the first pattern I use Sytrus and made it have a scratchy sound to it (very noisy). It starts with just one note of the Sytrus (default Sytrus). I made two automation clips (fruity filter cut off auto clip and default volume auto clip)for the Sytrus, that makes a kinda of scary swoosh type sound leading into the loop. The second part to my loop is also default Syrtus, but this one isn't scratchy it has more of a techno sound to it. This pattern is a kinda fast pattern, that I also made an automation clip for. The automation clip for this one though isn't the default volume its Fruity Filter cut off frequency. I was gonna add Fruity Filter resonance auto clip too, but I decided not to because I didn't like how it sounded. Its a short loop but sounds good to me. Take a listen and give me some feedback on it. Hope y'all like it.

Project 4 Fruity Filter

In project 4 I had to use Fruity Filter tool. Throughout the first half of the loop fruity filter is on and is used on the fruity filter's "Cut off" and "High pass". In the first section you will hear slayer with two quick Hip_kick_7 notes thrown in at the beginning and a Digi Base that plays at same time as the Hip_Kick_7. In the next section you will hear slayer, Hip_Kick_7, Digi Base, (FLS_Crash07c "at beginning"), Hip_Snare_9, some more Digi Base, and one FLS_Crash07 to end first half. Going into the second half u will first hear Digi Base, Hip_Kick_7, hat, Hip_Snare_9, then you will hear Slayer, Hip_Kick_7, hat, Hip_Snare_9, and Digi Base.

Project 3 Automation

In my project three i had to use the Automation Clip tool. The first thing you are going to hear is Simsyth, and FPC Ambient Groove 11. then you will hit the second beat and you will hear Simsyth, FPC Ambient Groove 03, and FPC Ambient Groove 06. The Simsyth has a Automation Clip the will make it smoothly change the cut then a sharp drop in cut then sharp cut up again then smooth cut down. Then it goes back to the first beat. Then at the end the volume slowly goes out.

Project Two

In this project I used the chop and, the transpose tools. The first beat you hear will go on throughout the loop. It is a fast beat that gives the loop a good beat to run off of. Then you will get to the first change and hear simsynth, slayer and FPC. This first change is a fast beat. Then you will hear another change, But this one isn't as fast as the first, instead its just a nice beat nothing to fast but great in the loop. The beat used in the second change is simsyth, just two different pitches of it. Overall the loop has a fast beat with a great sound to it in my opinion, but let me know what y'all think about it.
